Project Kuiper is part of Amazon's ecosystem — the same company that operates AWS, Ring, Alexa, Prime, and the largest e-commerce platform on Earth. Satellite internet gives Amazon control of the connection itself, not just the services running on it. Combined with Ring (cameras), Alexa (voice), Prime (shopping), and AWS (cloud), Amazon would control a vertical stack from orbital infrastructure to your shopping cart.
Starlink Standard Kit Gen 3: CStarlink says it collects your data to run its internet service, but its app secretly includes advertising software that tracks you across other apps.
The Starlink companion app (com.starlink.mobile) contains Google AdMob advertising tracker and requests ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID and ACCESS_ADSERVICES_ATTRIBUTION permissions — dedicated advertising infrastructure that serves no function in satellite internet management. The app also includes RECORD_AUDIO (microphone access) and CAMERA permissions that are not explained in the privacy policy as data collection vectors.
