Corporate Entities

The parent companies behind the products we investigate. Their structural risks — legal obligations, consent decrees, surveillance programmes — set a grade floor that no individual product can escape.

Structural risks
What are structural risks? Legal obligations, surveillance programme memberships, consent decrees, and jurisdiction laws that apply to a corporate entity and every product it owns. A subsidiary cannot opt out of an FTC consent decree. A Chinese company cannot selectively ignore the Intelligence Law for one product. These risks set a grade floor — no product under that entity can score better, regardless of its own privacy settings. Learn more →
